Vicki Cotton
Learning & Development Partner - Operations – People TeamHow long have you worked at bensons for beds?
Almost 5 years
Why did you decide to join the business?
The challenge – I joined in times of huge change for Bensons, the job had so much potential and I had the chance to be part of a new Bensons, as Bensons that was invested in its people. The challenges come and go but the reward I get from seeing our colleagues grow and develop never stops

What do you love most about working at bensons for beds?
The people – it’s all about the people. The colleagues I meet across all areas of the business, all wanting to do the best job for both our colleagues and our customers.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
When your job doesn’t feel like a job it’s easy to get out of bed. I love being able to deliver training that really makes a difference and helps develop people to be the best the can. For that reason I jump out of bed
What is your bed time routine?
After I have put my daughter to bed, it’s nice to try and get an hour or so to catch up on the latest box set we are watching… I like to be in bed for about 10 so there’s no binge watching here – but I’m happy if I can get a full episode of something in… I always go to sleep with the timer on watching something I’ve watched a million times
What development have you received whilst working at bensons for beds?
Lots – personally and professionally. Lots of chances for me to grow my skill sets and develop and also finding more about myself and what I can bring to the business. You never stop learning
What one piece of advice would you give someone starting a new career with bensons for beds?
Talk to everyone – when I first started I tried to meet with as many people as I could across the business to really start to understand how Bensons works and the people who make it a great place to work
