Stephanie Jervis
Junior People Business Partner – People TeamHow long have you worked at bensons for beds?
A little over 4 years now. The time has flown by!
Why did you decide to join the business?
I was contacted by recruitment at Bensons the day I quit my old job. The team were really kind, and they gave me the opportunity to show who I was and what I could do.
What do you love most about working at bensons for beds?
The people! I don’t say this just because I work in the people team, but I genuinely love the people around me!

Why do you do the job that you do? What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I am extremely passionate about trying to make sure that our people know they are valued and feel happy to come to work. I want to make a difference to people’s lives in whatever way I can.
What is your bed time routine?
I read until my eyelids start drooping then I brush my teeth, snuggle in bed with loads of pillows and pass out. If I’m not into a book I use ASMR to help me drift off.
What development have you received whilst working at bensons for beds?
I started in Bensons as an administrator and now I am a People Business partner. I have had Personal development plans, been given opportunities to go to training and then deliver training and been trusted to show what I can do. The people around me have championed me and gotten me involved in projects to increase my knowledge and skills. So, in 4 years I have had 1 baby and 2 promotions :)
How do you feel working at bensons for beds has helped you in your personal life?
I feel secure in my job. I also know if anything was to go wrong in my personal life, I have work to support me, mentally, through our benefits partners with counselling or if I ever became unwell there is income protection and early intervention. I can be flexible in buying more annual leave when I need to, to try to cover the never-ending school holidays.
What one piece of advice would you give someone starting a new career with bensons for beds?
Take some time to really see what we do. Our business is so varied, from the making of the beds, to transporting them across the country, to selling them in stores and everything our contact centre and support teams do to keep our customers happy and ensure they have the best experience! So whatever time you can get to visit different sites and meet the people, I’d say do it!
