Jonathan Barratt
Talent Acquisition Manager – People TeamHow long have you worked at bensons for beds?
I've been here since December 2023, so almost 2 years. But it feels like I have been here my whole life (in a good way!)
What do you love most about working at bensons for beds?
There is quite a lot I love about working here. The people first and foremost are incredible! Everyone gets stuck in and you really are made to feel part of the family from day one!
But, from a personal point of view, I love that I am trusted to be the best version of me day in day out and I am allowed to be my true authentic self.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
For me, it's knowing that I am about to have a day! I love to know I am going to have an opportunity throughout a day where I am going to achieve something. Big or small! The thought that I am going to come to work and make decisions that are going to have a really positive impact on peoples lives, in one capacity or another, brings me great joy.
What is your bed time routine?
Considering I work for a bed retailer who are obsessed with getting people a better nights sleep, I am actually useless at it! haha!
I do find a sleep much better after I exercise, so i usually train then come home, have a shower, eat a small meal and find that helps me to relax enough to get a good nights sleep.
How do you feel working at bensons for beds has helped you professionally?
Bensons have given me an opportunity to grow both in my role and as a leader. I have been fortunate enough to make great relationships with people here who I have welcomed advice and mentorship from. Something I am forever grateful for.

What one piece of advice would you give someone starting a new career with bensons for beds?
I would say believe in yourself. You were recruited for a reason. We saw something in you that mirrors our core values. But, be prepared to work hard and prove to everyone why you were selected above others.
