Health and Safety: Promoting a Positive Safety Culture in Manufacturing

Main Responsibilities: Health and Safety Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensuring that effective risk assessments are in place for all the site's activities, including SOPRA, COSHH, Manual Handling, Noise, DSE, and other statutory requirements
- Ensuring Group systems for reporting and responding to accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses are implemented
- Implementing testing arrangements for emergency response and fire systems
- Maintaining relevant KPIs and information on Health and Safety matters
- Providing health & safety training and inductions welcomed safely into the business
- Liaising with internal management providing advice and guidance
- Carrying out internal audits and inspections
- Ensuring the contractor management process is adhered to
- Working closely with and becoming a valued member of the Legal & Safety Team
Essential Experience and Skills for Health and Safety Advisors in Manufacturing
- Experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk management principles, especially for factory operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and coach colleagues at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach to problem-solving.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team; able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Competent in writing clear reports and maintaining accurate health and safety documentation.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health & safety qualification is desirable.
- IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
