Keep our operation moving. Solve problems that matter. Make an impact every day.
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team. If you thrive on fault finding, enjoy keeping machinery performing at its best, and take pride in preventing problems before they happen, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving our production equipment, responding to breakdowns, and driving continuous improvements to maximise reliability, efficiency and safety across our manufacturing operation.
What you'll be doing
As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring our production facilities operate safely and efficiently by:
Responding quickly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Diagnosing faults and carrying out high-quality repairs to production machinery and equipment.
Delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and helping to improve maintenance programmes.
Installing, moving and commissioning machinery and equipment when required.
Using our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record work, manage maintenance activities and identify recurring issues.
Identifying root causes of equipment failures and recommending long-term solutions.
Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability, productivity and efficiency.
Working alongside production teams, contractors and specialist engineers to deliver engineering solutions.
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping using 5S principles.
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Supporting and mentoring trainee engineers where appropriate.
What we're looking for
You'll be a proactive engineer who enjoys solving problems and working as part of a collaborative team. You'll ideally have:
A recognised Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, ONC, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent.
A completed engineering apprenticeship.
Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment (automotive experience is advantageous but not essential).
Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A structured approach to problem solving with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
Fork Lift Truck (Reach) licence (desirable).
Experience in sewing machine repairs (desirable)
Why join us?
You'll be joining a business that values its engineers and recognises the vital role maintenance plays in operational success. You'll have the opportunity to:
Work with modern manufacturing equipment.
Be involved in continuous improvement projects.
Develop your technical skills through ongoing training and development.
Work within a supportive engineering team where your ideas are valued.
Make a genuine impact on production performance and business success.
