Internal Comms Executive
No one size fits all when it comes to finding the perfect sleep experience for customers and that’s why at Bensons for Beds we put Sleep Wellness™ at the heart of everything we do!
As an Internal Comms Executive you will support the delivery of clear, engaging and timely communications that keep colleagues informed, aligned and connected. You will work across internal channels to plan, write and distribute content that explains business priorities, shares news and recognises colleague achievements. Full training and support will be provided so you can quickly learn our communication processes, channel tools and tone of voice.
You will partner with people leaders, HR, marketing and other teams to translate strategy into practical communications, maintain editorial calendars and ensure messages reach the right audiences. A practical, organised approach is important: you’ll manage multiple projects, follow approval cycles and help maintain content trackers and intranet assets.
This is a great opportunity to develop your internal communications expertise and progress into broader employee engagement, change or corporate communications roles as you gain experience.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a collaborative communicator who enjoys turning complex information into clear, audience‑appropriate messages. You should have excellent written English, strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt tone for different colleague groups and channels. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and comfort taking feedback are essential.
Previous experience in communications, HR communications, marketing or a related role is desirable but not required—we value potential and enthusiasm. Familiarity with content management systems, intranet platforms or email distribution tools is advantageous.
The best outcomes come from a supportive culture…
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and believe everyone should be able to bring their authentic self to work. We value inclusivity, respect and diversity and encourage applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
Key responsibilities:
Write clear, concise and on‑brand internal communications for email, intranet, newsletters, briefings and digital displays.
Help develop and maintain an editorial calendar and content trackers to coordinate messaging across teams and campaigns.
Work with leaders and stakeholders to draft briefings, talking points and Q&A documents for town halls and team meetings.
Support measurement and reporting of internal communications activity, including engagement metrics and feedback insights.
Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, consistent tone and adherence to brand and compliance guidelines.
Coordinate approvals, manage distribution schedules and upload content to the intranet and other channels.
Contribute ideas to colleague engagement initiatives, recognition programmes and change communications.
Skills and experience:
Excellent written English with strong proofreading and editing skills.
Some experience in internal communications, HR communications, marketing, or a related support role (this could include placements or freelance work).
Understanding of how to write for different internal channels (intranet, email, digital displays and meetings).
Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accurate trackers.
Comfortable using MS Office; familiarity with content management systems, intranet platforms or email distribution tools is a plus.
Team player with good interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders and respond to feedback constructively.
The cool side of the pillow (our benefits):
Alongside a competitive salary, we offer a range of colleague benefits which may include:
Colleague discount on our products
Health and wellbeing support, including access to employee assistance programmes and health cashback options*
Group income protection and life assurance*
Pension scheme provided by an external provider*
