Scott Hughes
Site Operations Leader – Warehouse & DistributionWhy did you decide to join the business?
joined Bensons for Beds because I saw a great opportunity to be part of a well- known, trusted brand that really cares about quality and customer satisfaction. With my background in logistics and Operations Management, the Site Manager role felt like a natural fit for me. What really stood out was how focused the company is on not just delivering products, but making sure customers have a great experience from start to finish, and that’s something I’m genuinely passionate about. I wanted to be part of a team where I could make a real difference, help improve how things run day to day, and support the people around me to deliver the best service possible.
What do you love most about working at bensons for beds?
What I really enjoy about working at Bensons for Beds is the team spirit and how everyone’s committed to giving customers a great experience. Every day, I get to work with a bunch of people who genuinely care about what they do, from the warehouse staff to the delivery teams. There’s a real sense of responsibility and pride, which makes my job as Site Manager feel rewarding and motivating. I also like the fast pace and how we’re always looking to get better, whether that’s in how we handle logistics, keep things safe, or make customers happy. It’s a place where hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and there’s always a chance to make a real difference

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I do this job because I really enjoy leading a team and making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. As a Site Manager, it’s great to know that the work we do has a real impact on the customer experience, when we get it right, someone’s starting their day after a better night’s sleep. What gets me up in the morning is the challenge and responsibility of making that happen consistently. I enjoy solving problems, supporting my team, and hitting our targets, but more than anything, I’m motivated by knowing we’re helping people feel comfortable and happy at home. And there’s definitely some friendly competition between sites too, which keeps things fun and pushes us all to do our best. It’s great to be part of a team that motivates each other to keep improving.
What is your bed time routine?
Usually, I’ll switch off from work by cooking dinner and spending time with my family.
How do you feel working at bensons for beds has helped you professionally?
Even though I haven’t been with Bensons for Beds long, I’ve already grown a lot professionally. I’ve been encouraged to take charge of my site and make decisions that really make a difference, which has boosted my confidence as a leader. It’s a company that gives you the tools and trust you need to keep growing.
What one piece of advice would you give someone starting a new career with bensons for beds?
My biggest piece of advice would be to just jump right in and don’t be shy about asking questions. Bensons for Beds is all about teamwork, and everyone plays a part in making sure ‘more people get a great nights sleep’. If you’re enthusiastic and keen to learn, it really helps. There’s loads of support around you from managers, peers, and even the other sites
