How long have you worked at Bensons for Beds?
3 months.
-
Why did you decide to join the business?
I joined Bensons for Beds as COO because I saw a unique opportunity to make a real difference in a business with a strong heritage, a passionate team, and enormous potential. I was drawn to the challenge of driving operational excellence, transforming the customer experience, and unlocking growth by creating a culture where people are empowered to shine.

What do you love most about working at Bensons for Beds?
What I like most about working at Bensons is the opportunity to create meaningful change alongside a passionate and committed team. What sets Bensons apart is the energy and openness of the people. There’s a real drive to improve, support one another, and do what’s right for our customers. I love being part of a business where collaboration and purpose come together, and build a culture that people are proud to be part of.
-
Why do you do the job that you do? What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I do my job because I genuinely care about creating environments where people can thrive, where customers feel valued, and where we deliver on what we promise. There’s nothing better than seeing a team grow in confidence, a problem get solved, or an idea come to life. That sense of progress, purpose, and impact is what motivates me every day.

What's your bed time routine?
The scroll of doom. I tell myself “just 5 minutes” checking social media and a few competitor websites… 47 clicks later, I’m deep-diving into their bed delivery promises, tracking lead times, judging their van liveries, and critiquing their mattress handling. But then I remember… Bensons are best and go to sleep!
-
What development have you received whilst working at Bensons for Beds?
Stepping into this role has challenged me to think differently to lead through others, to listen more, and to stay focused on long-term impact rather than quick wins. I’ve learned to be more patient, more resilient, and more comfortable with ambiguity, especially in a fast-changing retail environment.
