What do you love most about working at Bensons for Beds?
We are a business where our colleagues at genuinely at the heart of our success. We are a business of 100’s of colleagues not hundreds of thousands, and all our colleagues from our sleep experts through to our delivery teams all can have a huge impact on our customers. Doing the right thing by our colleagues will mean we do the right thing by our customers; the most important part of our strategy is what we call; “unlocking the power of our people”

Why do you do the job that you do? What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I love retail! I have worked on both sides of the fence, i.e. in retail business but also consumer brands, and I love the immediacy of retail. You have to be slightly masochistic as it can be tough, but you have an amazing ability to make stuff happen quickly and see that result come through in sales and profit, it's addictive!

What is your bed time routine?
Reading! Books have always been a passion of mine, and I can think of nothing more relaxing than losing myself in a book. There is no better way of taking that important step of winding down before bed…and always physical, no screens!

What development have you received whilst working at Bensons for Beds?
I am really lucky that I have had a supportive board and set of investors who have given me the space to learn the role of CEO. It’s the type of job that is a real privilege to have, but one that is very hard to prepare for before you start doing it.
