Procurement / Buyer
We’re looking for a commercially minded Procurement professional to join our team and take ownership of sourcing, supplier management and negotiation across a range of raw materials.
You’ll play a key role in making sure we have the right materials, from the right suppliers, at the right price and at the right time. You’ll build strong supplier relationships, negotiate costs and continually look for opportunities to improve cost, cash and supplier performance.
What you’ll be doing
Managing procurement and supplier selection across allocated material categories, including onboarding new suppliers.
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance across areas such as OTIF and quality, and taking action where improvements are needed.
Negotiating raw material prices and working closely with Finance and Costing teams to manage price changes and financial performance.
Monitoring market trends and observations, using these to develop clear and effective category strategies.
Working closely with our New Product Development team to onboard new materials, manage the sample selection process and support SKU rationalisation and cost savings.
Supporting the Procurement Manager with annual budget preparation, budget control and financial forecasting.
Managing Service Level Agreements with key and general suppliers.
Identifying opportunities to improve supplier performance, reduce costs and add value across our material categories.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with at least 3 years’ procurement experience, ideally gained within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You’ll be confident negotiating with suppliers and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. You’ll also need to be commercially and analytically minded, highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
You’ll bring:
Proven experience in Procurement and purchasing negotiations.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including presentation skills.
Excellent organisation, analytical and prioritisation skills.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
Knowledge of category management and supplier relationship management.
A self-motivated, results-driven approach and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
The ability to work at pace, manage multiple priorities and think strategically.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above.
If you’re commercially driven, enjoy building strong supplier relationships and want a role where you can make a real difference to cost, quality and supplier performance, we’d love to hear from you!
