Join our team as a Shift Operations Manager and lead efficient, safe and productive shift operations in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking an experienced operations leader to manage day-to-day shift activities, optimise processes, and drive continuous improvement. The role demands strong people management, excellent communication, and a focus on health & safety and performance metrics.

Key responsibilities - shift operations management

• Plan, coordinate and oversee all aspects of assigned shifts to meet production, quality and safety targets.

• Lead, coach and develop shift team members to maintain high levels of engagement and performance.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, downtime, quality and labour utilisation.

• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise workflow, reduce waste and increase operational efficiency.

• Manage shift handovers, escalating operational issues and ensuring clear communication between teams and departments.

• Coordinate maintenance, scheduling and resource allocation to minimise disruption and maximise productivity.

• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments and incident investigations; implement corrective actions and preventive measures.

Skills and experience - operations leadership and people management

• Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or similar operations environment.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop frontline teams across shifts.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.

• Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills and experience working with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Flexible approach to working hours, including nights, weekends and rota arrangements.
