Warehouse Operative - Nights
At Bensons for Beds, our Warehouse Operatives play an essential part in making sure our customers receive their orders accurately, on time, and in top condition. Our night shift teams (working 10pm to 6am) are the backbone of our operation—your energy, attention to detail, and dedication keep everything running smoothly and help ensure that every day (and night!) is a success in our warehouse environment. Full training and ongoing support will be provided from day one, setting you up to succeed as part of our friendly, hard-working team.
Warehouse Operative Night Shift Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Operative working nights, you will:
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Load and unload deliveries, checking for accuracy and reporting any discrepancies
- Operate material handling equipment (training provided, where required)
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, cleanliness, and security in the warehouse
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with your team and managers
- Ensure all stock is handled and stored appropriately, minimising damage
- Assist with stock checks, audits, and general warehouse organisation
- Achieve daily and weekly targets while contributing to wider team goals
What We’re Looking For in Night Warehouse Operatives
We’re searching for Warehouse Operatives who bring a can-do attitude to their work and take pride in delivering outstanding service—both to colleagues and customers. For you and your team to excel on nights, you’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or similar manual role (desirable, not essential—full training given)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately to targets
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Resilience and flexibility—nights can be busy, so you’ll stay motivated and focused
- Physical fitness and the ability to safely handle heavy items (manual handling training given)
- Reliable and punctual, with a positive approach to shift work
