As a Shunter Driver, you’ll be a vital part of our delivery and logistics team, expertly moving vehicles and trailers around our site to keep our operations running like clockwork — so our customers get their perfect, timely deliveries. We’ll give you all the training you need to understand our processes and ensure you’re confident behind the wheel, helping you hit the ground running.
Our depots are essential to the smooth running of our business – you’ll be working alongside a supportive team to make sure vehicles and trailers are positioned correctly, completing safety checks, and keeping our yard organised and tidy. Safety, teamwork and great communication are at the heart of what we do, and you’ll play a crucial role in helping us achieve the highest standards every single day.
What we're looking for:
We’re seeking a reliable and safety-focused Shunter Driver with a passion for teamwork and a “can do” approach. Ideally, you’ll have experience moving heavy vehicles or trailers in a busy yard, though full training will be provided for the right attitude!
- Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) driving licence preferred (but we welcome applications from those with relevant experience)
- Experience operating shunting vehicles, HGVs, or in a similar logistics/transport environment
- Strong commitment to health & safety, carrying out vehicle checks and handling trailer swaps safely
- Confident communication skills – able to work with warehouse, transport, and management teams
- Punctual, organised, and happy to work shifts with flexibility for overtime
- Resilient and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Shunter Driver Role – Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently move and position trailers within site according to delivery schedules
- Carry out pre-use checks and report any vehicle issues promptly
- Support loading/unloading teams as required
- Maintain site and yard organisation at all times
- Work closely with Transport and Warehouse teams to ensure a safe, effective workflow
- Follow all site safety, security, and compliance procedures
