Yard Shunter Driver | Ayr |£25,135p.a. + benefits 

You will be responsible for moving large vehicles in confined spaces so must be a confident driver. A Class 1 or Class 2 licence is required, however, no driver qualification card will be required as there won’t be any driving on public roads. This would suit someone who’s driver CPC qualification has expired. Full training will be given.

Working Hours: 
Alternate shifts 5am-1pm and 1pm-9pm

Your Key Responsibilities as a Yard Shunter Driver will include : -

• Communication with the loading teams to ensure the correct loads are allocated to the correct vehicles.
• Manoeuvre vehicles / trailers / de-mount boxes into loading or unloading positions.
• Monitor vehicles for roadworthiness and report any defects before loading.
• Communication with the transport office so drivers can be routed to the correct Runs.
• Moving large vehicles into confined spaces: must be a confident driver 

What we are looking for

• A UK driving licence - Class 1 or Class 2
• Previous commercial driving experience preferred although not essential.
• Predominantly working on the PM shift but may need to cover alternative shifts for holidays and absence.
• This would suit someone who’s driver qualification has expired.
