Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership in Manufacturing
- Oversee all technical aspects of the manufacturing process; champion industry best practices and compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving and process development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimise cost, quality, and productivity across all manufacturing operations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, to deliver seamless manufacturing outcomes and fulfil production targets.
- Manage technical projects from conception through to execution, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.
- Monitor and analyse production data, identifying trends, solving technical challenges, and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Act as the technical point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners, representing manufacturing interests with professionalism and expertise.
Skills & Experience Needed for Manufacturing Technical Management Success
- Significant experience within a technical or engineering management role, ideally within fast-moving consumer goods, electronics, or similar high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Proven track record of driving technical improvements by implementing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire, develop and empower colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and project management abilities.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing technology, automation, and quality control systems.
- Excellent communication skills, able to build effective relationships at all levels across the business.
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering or manufacturing disciplines.
