Essential Driver Skills and Experience for Home Furniture Delivery

• Valid UK Driving Licence (Category C1) required for 7.5T vehicle operation
• Valid CPC Licence and driver’s digital card
• Proven home delivery experience, ideally with furniture or bulky items
• Experience in furniture assembly and delivery at customer premises
• Excellent customer service skills, with confidence in direct customer interactions

What Your Delivery Day Looks Like – Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate a 7.5T vehicle, ensuring timely and secure home deliveries
• Deliver, assemble, and install beds, mattresses, and furniture in customer homes, respecting property and personal space
• Deliver friendly, professional, and helpful service that always puts the customer first
• Work closely with a delivery team member, communicating effectively and supporting each other
• Use handheld PDAs to record delivery information and complete paperwork accurately
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and carry out regular safety checks

Who We’re Looking For – Experience & Requirements

• Minimum age 21 (for insurance purposes)
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Proven record of professional driving (7.5T vehicle or similar commercial delivery role)
• Manual handling experience – able to safely lift and manoeuvre furniture
• Working knowledge of driving legislation and digital tachograph use
• Experience using handheld devices or PDAs is desirable
